Warehouse Associate I – Reading, PA
Hours are 2:30pm – 11pm, Monday through Friday
The Warehouse Associate will receive, store and distribute material, equipment and products within the facility. Employee may perform other related duties as required to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
- Read production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine item to be moved, gathered or distributed.
- Convey materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
- Sort and place materials or items in warehouse according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
- Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets, convey orders to packing station or shipping department.
- Maintain inventory records by recording number of materials or items received or distributed.
- Weigh or count items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
- Use computer to enter records.
- Compile worksheets or tickets from customer specifications.
- Drive vehicles to transport stored items from warehouse to plant or to pick up items from several locations for shipment.
- Perform all work procedures according to established Quality Management & Environmental Management Systems.
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Tow Motor certification required.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to prioritize activities.
- Experience using business applications such as Outlook (email), ERP/inventory systems and Shipping/tracking software (UPS, DHL etc.)
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
