Job summary

Leadec in Jacksonville, FL is seeking an IMRL Tool Room Attendant to manage tool issue/receipt, conduct inventories, and maintain 100% accountability for aviation tools and test equipment.

You will perform data entry into inventory systems, enforce FOD prevention, support EHS compliance, and help maintain a safe, organized tool room on the shop floor, reporting to the site supervisor.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 0–2 years in warehouse/tool room/inventory environment; military aviation experience valued.
  • US Citizenship and ability to pass background check.

Responsibilities

  • Issue and receipt of aviation tools, test equipment, and hand tools.
  • Conduct daily inventories to ensure accountability.
  • Enforce FOD prevention protocols and report missing tools.
  • Perform visual inspections of returned tools for wear or damage.
  • Update inventory logs and tracking software on tool issuance/return/maintenance.
  • Maintain a clean, organized tool room and protect assets from corrosion.

Position: IMRL Tool Room Attendant

Location: Jacksonville, FL

Job Type: On-site

Reports to: Supervisor

Department: North America Operations

Position Purpose: An IMRL (Individual Material Readiness List) Tool Room Attendant works directly on the tool room floor, executing the daily operations of issuing, receiving, and tracking specialized aviation support equipment and tools. Reporting to the site lead, this hands-on role focuses on accountability, safety compliance, and immediate support for aircraft maintenance crews.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrates the values and business principles of Leadec.
  • Works safely at all times.
  • Tool Issue & Receipt: Check out and check in specialized aviation tools, test equipment, and hand tools for maintenance technicians.
  • Daily Inventories: Conduct morning, shift-change, and evening inventory counts of all individual assets to ensure 100% accountability.
  • FOD Prevention: Enforce strict Foreign Object Damage (FOD) protocols by immediately reporting any missing tools and initiating localized search procedures.
  • Visual Inspections: Inspect returning tools for wear, damage, or cleanliness before placing them back into storage locations.
  • Data Entry: Update local inventory logs and tracking software whenever tools are issued, returned, or flagged for maintenance.
  • Tool Room Upkeep: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe tool room environment by properly storing assets and applying protective coatings against corrosion.
  • Adhering to and supporting all EHS and Quality objectives, in accordance with ISO 14001, 45001 and 9001 respectively.
  • All other duties as assigned by Leadec manager.

Position Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 0 to 2 years of experience in a warehouse, tool room, or mechanical inventory environment (military aviation experience is highly valued).
  • Strong attention to detail, basic computer proficiency, and familiarity with standard hand tools.
  • Requires U.S. Citizenship and the ability to pass customer background check.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, walk across hangar floors, and lift toolboxes or equipment weighing up to 35 pounds.
  • This position may require flexibility to work various shifts, including 2nd shift hours of 2:00 PM -- 10:30 PM, based on business needs.
Physical Requirements:
  • Required to talk and/or hear in an industrial setting (noise level is high). Frequently required to stand and walk on concrete surfaces for 4 -12 hours. Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; lift; climb or balance; kneel, crawl, stoop, or crouch.
  • Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and focus adjustment.
  • Work is performed in an industrial-manufacturing environment with occasional time spent working on a computer or at a desk.
  • The environment involves frequent interaction with mechanics, exposure to hanger noise, and varying temperature conditions.
