Job summary

KENT WORLDWIDE™ is seeking an Inventory Technician (Finance) in Muscatine, IA to support accurate inventory records and efficient material handling. You will help manage stock, coordinate deliveries, and uphold safety and housekeeping standards across the plant.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 2 years of experience in storekeeping or inventory control

• Working knowledge of inventory management, data entry systems, and stockroom operations
• Ability to safely operate a forklift and obtain forklift certification
• Attention to detail, organization, time management, and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, unload, store, and distribute materials while maintaining accurate inventory records and stockroom documentation
• Maintain inventory accuracy through receipt processing, stock withdrawals, cycle counting, record keeping, and inventory control procedures
• Inspect incoming deliveries for damage, discrepancies, or quality concerns and coordinate resolutions
• Manage stock rotation and handling, return, transfer, and disposal of surplus, obsolete, or damaged materials
• Coordinate freight activities and support safe movement of materials and equipment throughout the facility
• Process and organize stockroom materials, including packing, labeling, shelving, and preparing items for use
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe storeroom environment and follow safety standards
• Demonstrate commitment to safety by following policies and promoting safe work practices

INVENTORY TECHNICIAN (Finance)

• This position is designed and intended to be performed in Muscatine, Iowa.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Receive, inspect, unload, store, and distribute materials while maintaining accurate inventory records and stockroom documentation.
• Maintain inventory accuracy through proper receipt processing, stock withdrawals, cycle counting, record keeping, and inventory control procedures.
• Inspect incoming deliveries for damage, discrepancies, or quality concerns and coordinate appropriate resolution and documentation.
• Manage stock rotation and coordinate the handling, return, transfer, and disposal of surplus, obsolete, or damaged materials.
• Coordinate freight activities and support the safe movement of materials and equipment throughout the facility.
• Process and organize stockroom materials, including packing, labeling, pricing, shelving, and preparing items for use across the plant.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe storeroom environment through routine housekeeping and adherence to safety standards.
• Demonstrate a commitment to safety by following established policies and procedures, identifying potential hazards, and supporting a culture of safe work practices.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND/OR QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent with 2 years of experience in storekeeping, inventory control, recordkeeping, or a related warehouse environment with a strong commitment to safe work practices.
• Working knowledge of inventory management, bookkeeping practices, stockroom operations, and data entry systems, with strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift and other material-handling equipment; valid driver's license required and ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational, time management, and communication skills, with proficiency using common office equipment and inventory-related technology.
• Ability to frequently lift and carry materials up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds while working safely and following established policies and procedures.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety, recognizing it as a core company value, by promoting safe work practices, maintaining an organized work environment, and contributing to a culture where safety is a shared responsibility.
