Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Travel to Medical Center customer sites in Philadelphia area to manage cylinder gas inventory.
  • Establish and support optimal cylinder gas inventory levels with customers.
  • Record inventory usage and process orders via AirGas/SAP and Google Forms/Sheets.
  • Perform regular inventory rounds and audits to maintain target levels.
  • Safely handle and rotate cylinders and monitor deliveries and documentation.

Responsibilities
  • Inventory Technician will travel to Medical Center customer sites in the Philadelphia area nurturing customer service relationships and building strong partnerships while supporting the distribution and tracking of Airgas Cylinders on Medical Center premises.
  • Partner with customers to establish and support optimal cylinder gas inventory levels.
  • Support seasonal adjustments to inventory levels.
  • Place and process orders efficiently through the AirGas.com/SAP system.
  • Document cylinder gas inventory usage using Google Forms or Google Sheets.
  • Ensure proper separation of empty, full, and active cylinders.
  • Rotate non-specialty gas products every 30 days to maintain quality.
  • Perform scheduled rounds to maintain target inventory levels across all facility locations.
  • Pickup and return empty cylinders to storage areas to support seamless return to the production facility.
  • Monitor and receive cylinder gas deliveries to verify accurate delivery documentation.
  • Safely change out gas/liquid cylinder manifolds at service sites.
  • Comply with all applicable facility guidelines and procedures, as well as Airgas standards and regulatory frameworks including, but not limited to: SAFECOR, HS&E, MQCT, CGMP, OSHA, etc.
  • Complete assigned tasks aligned with established procedures.
  • Assess initial situations effectively and collaborate with team members to resolve complex challenges.
  • Respond swiftly to urgent needs to support uninterrupted product supply.
  • Conduct periodic cylinder inventory audits at specified intervals.
  • Provide insightful inventory usage reports to hospital partners.
  • Collaborate with the local accounts payable team to facilitate accurate billing and timely processing.
  • Champion a culture of safety for all team members, customers, and the surrounding community.
  • Collaborate with the local safety department to support hospital personnel in best practices for handling and storing medical gas products.
  • Promptly submit any Good Catch incidents to your manager or customer to foster continuous safety improvement.

Travel: 60-100% of work time (this position is eligible for a monthly car allowance).

Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or Associates Degree plus equivalent experience.
  • Strong customer service orientation skills to act as a single source for all customer requirements.
  • Self-motivated and ability to work effectively without supervision.
  • Thorough understanding of cylinder gasses and safe handling methods.
  • Able to understand and abide by stringent safety rules.
  • Annual Immunizations such as TB screening and Flu Shot are client requirements.
Computer Skills
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of record keeping and documentation and be able to utilize the Airgas system to place orders and monitor cylinder balances.
Communication and/or Critical Thinking Skills
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write routine business reports and business correspondence in English.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees and/or customers.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals using the English language.
Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.
