Job summary

Opella in Chattanooga, TN is seeking an Inventory Systems Specialist to manage inventory data and SAP integrations across 3PL and WMS. You will troubleshoot SAP iDoc and EDI, maintain master data, and support continuous improvement in supply chain processes, balancing reliability with process documentation and cross-functional collaboration.

You will work with a team to ensure accurate inventory transactions, optimize interfaces, and drive improvements in data integrity and system performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in supply chain or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting SAP environments, preferably SAP S/4HANA.
  • Experience monitoring and troubleshooting SAP iDoc and EDI transactions.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management, warehouse operations, and 3PL integrations.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office with strong analytical and documentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with cross-team collaboration.
  • Knowledge of GDP, GMP, SOPs, and basic financial concepts.
  • Flexibility to provide occasional after-hours support.

Responsibilities

  • Support inventory integrations between SAP, WMS, and 3PL providers, resolving interface and transaction issues.
  • Analyze inventory activity, investigate variances, and partner with warehouse, supply chain, IT, and logistics teams to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs and support SAP upgrades, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure master data accuracy, monitor system performance, and maintain compliance with company policies, audit requirements, and data integrity standards.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, commercial, and external logistics partners to support daily supply chain operations.
  • Support ongoing inventory and supply chain optimization projects while providing operational support as needed.

About You

  • Strong understanding of inventory management, warehouse operations, supply chain processes, and third‑party logistics (3PL) integrations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office, with strong analytical, problem‑solving, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment while collaborating effectively across teams and maintaining attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of Good Documentation Practices (GDP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), standard operating procedures (SOPs), and basic financial concepts.
  • Flexible to provide occasional after‑hours support for critical inventory or system interface issues.
