JOB TITLE: INVENTORY SPECIALIST I
DEPARTMENT: OPERATIONS
REPORTS TO: FLIGHT OPERATIONS INVENTORY LEAD
CLASSIFICATION: NON-EXEMPT
PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Inventory Specialist I supports accurate tracking, entry, and organization of inventory records for aircraft fleet operations. This role is responsible for assisting with the maintenance of the Veryon system, ensuring timely updates to parts, maintenance actions, and inventory adjustments. The role will work closely with more senior inventory specialists and operations team members to maintain data accuracy and compliance with internal standards.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support daily data entry and inventory updates in the Veryon database
- Assist with logging part consumption, maintenance actions, and inventory movement
- Conduct routine audits of parts inventory to ensure records match physical stock
- Maintain documentation related to part numbers, serial numbers, and inventory changes
- Track parts issued and returned under the direction of senior staff or project leads
- Help verify part availability for upcoming maintenance or production tasks
- Organize digital and physical inventory records in compliance with company processes
- Support other departments in locating parts and documentation as needed
- Escalate discrepancies or system issues to the Inventory Specialist II or supervisor
- Follow standard operating procedures and support process improvement efforts
- Performs other duties as assigned
BASIC REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or GED required and 0-2 years of experience in inventory, supply chain, or administrative support (preferably in aerospace, logistics, or manufacturing)
- Ability to obtain a security clearance
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
- Comfortable working with inventory software and Microsoft Excel
- Willingness to learn and grow technical expertise in Veryon
- Basic understanding of inventory and part tracking principles
- Ability to follow procedures and document updates clearly
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
- AssociateS degree or technical training
- 2 years of experience in an aerospace/manufacturing inventory control environment
- Working knowledge of inventory management
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills
- Veryon Experience (Previously FlightDocs)
