Ukrop’s Homestyle Foods is seeking to hire an Inventory and Receiving Specialist at our Bakery located at 2020 Westmoreland St. The position requires weekend work as assigned. This is a 3rd shift position reporting from 8pm to 4:30am.

Position Summary:

Inventory and Receiving associates play a key role at Ukrop’s Homestyle Foods in ensuring the warehouse operates smoothly. In this role, associates are responsible for shipping, receiving, organizing, and distributing products throughout the plant. Additional functions may include operating forklifts and pallet jacks to move and store products, assembling pallets, and maintaining a safe, hazard-free environment.

Essential Duties:

1. Maintain positive communication with the Logistics and Transportation Departments.
2. Maintain positive relationships with departments and delivery drivers.
3. Maintain high sanitation standards and follow a daily cleaning schedule.
4. Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to load, unload, transport, and store goods.
5. Ensure timely departure of transportation and facilitate product movement within the plant.
6. Ensure raw materials, including packaging materials, are staged and available for production, meeting food safety and quality standards.
7. Apply internal lot codes to all incoming food and packaging cases.
8. Assist in maintaining the SQF system and ensure compliance with HACCP, SSOPs, and GMPs throughout the plant.
9. Examine shipment contents, compare with records such as manifests, invoices, or orders, and verify accuracy.
10. Manage and ensure the accuracy of documentation.
11. Operate machinery when necessary.
12. Perform physical activities involving lifting, bending, and handling materials.
13. Report food safety issues to a supervisor.

Education/Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Experience operating forklifts and pallet jacks
• 2-3 years of previous inventory and receiving experience
• Knowledge of safe handling procedures for foods and chemicals
• Ability to organize items systematically
• Effective communication skills with supervisors and coworkers; adherence to safety and chemical handling guidelines
• Flexibility to work varying schedules, including holidays
