Job description

APEX Placement and Consulting has partnered with an exciting company in Sterling Heights, MI looking to add an Inventory Specialist to their already amazing team. Their primary responsibility will be to ensure accurate inventory management by overseeing the ordering, receiving, storage, and distribution of materials. Keep reading for more details!

What your day will look like :

  • Monitor stock levels, perform cycle counts, track material movement across the warehouse and shop floor, and update inventory management systems to reflect real-time data.
  • Verify daily incoming shipments against purchase orders and routing documents; ensure accurate entry of transactions into inventory systems.
  • Efficiently store products in designated areas, optimize warehouse space, and update inventory systems to reflect storage changes.
  • Accurately pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment; confirm order accuracy against picking lists; determine optimal shipping methods and carriers; update systems accordingly.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of inventory discrepancies; collaborate with management to implement procedures that reduce loss through proper handling, security, and regular audits.
  • Maintain precise inventory records, generate reports, and analyze trends to identify process improvements.

What we are looking for :

  • Associate’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field preferred; or a minimum of two years of relevant experience in inventory control or a similar role
  • Strong background in inventory control within a manufacturing environment is highly desirable
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to accurately count, track, and record inventory data
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with inventory management systems and data analysis tools
