Job summary

The Lumber Manufactory, Inc. is hiring an Inventory Specialist at our New Albany mill in Mississippi. You will help track materials, supplies, and finished lumber from receiving through shipment, with room to grow into inventory control, logistics, or production roles.

No inventory experience required—we provide training and forklift certification. Responsibilities include receiving, data entry, cycle counts, organizing storage areas, and supporting audits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate recordkeeping.
• Comfortable with basic computer work, data entry, and Excel.
• Organized, dependable, punctual, and safety-minded.
• Able to lift 50–75 lbs regularly, stand and move for long periods, and work outdoors in all weather.
• Plus: 6 months to 1 year of warehouse, receiving, or inventory experience.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming lumber, hardware, and supplies and check for damage or discrepancies.
• Enter receipts into the inventory system accurately and on time.
• Run cycle counts and physical counts; help investigate variances.
• Keep yard, warehouse, and storage areas organized and labeled.
• Pull and stage materials for production runs and shipments.
• Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to move and stack lumber safely.
• Flag low stock and reorder needs before problems arise.
• Support month-end and year-end inventory audits.

The Lumber Manufactory (TLM) is building the future of sustainable lumber with next-generation sawmill technology. We design and operate state-of-the-art modular sawmills that produce high-grade dimensional wood products with greater efficiency and less waste. Backed by leading investors including Cantos, Slow Ventures, Banter Capital, Humba Ventures, and Ravelin Capital.

We're hiring an Inventory Specialist at our New Albany mill to help keep materials, supplies, and finished lumber accurately tracked from receiving through shipment. This is the first step on TLM's Supply Chain career path, with room to grow into inventory control, logistics, or production roles. No inventory experience needed. We'll train you and get you forklift certified.

What you'll do

• Receive incoming lumber, hardware, and supplies, and check them for damage or discrepancies against packing slips and purchase orders

• Enter receipts into our inventory system accurately and on time

• Run regular cycle counts and physical counts, and help investigate and resolve variances

• Keep the yard, warehouse, and storage areas organized and labeled

• Pull and stage materials for production runs and outgoing shipments

• Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to move and stack lumber safely

• Flag low stock and reorder needs before they become a problem

• Support month-end and year-end inventory audits

What we're looking for
