Aerotek in Germantown, MD is seeking an Inventory Specialist to support materials management and production readiness. The role requires strong attention to detail, experience with ERP systems, and hands-on inventory control in a warehouse environment.
You will perform receipts, kit preparation, cycle counts, and record-keeping using Deltek Costpoint, Excel, and related tools, contributing to accurate stock levels and timely material availability for manufacturing and service teams.
The Inventory Specialist assists with a wide range of inventory and materials management activities, including verifying and counting incoming items, processing transactions in the material inventory system, issuing materials for manufacturing and engineering projects, preparing kits, inspecting returned materials, and organizing and maintaining inventory storage areas. This role requires strong attention to detail, solid analytical skills, and proficiency with computer programs such as Deltek Costpoint, Excel, and other corporate ERP and office applications.
You will join a smaller, close-knit team where you can learn multiple aspects of logistics and inventory management, particularly within the electronics space. The environment supports professional growth, with clear opportunities to take on more responsibility over time. Team members are encouraged to expand their skills across kitting, shipping and receiving, ERP systems, and materials management, making this a strong platform for career development. The company offers a stable weekday schedule with some overtime available, providing both consistency and the chance to increase earnings while building valuable experience.
The work takes place in a clean environment with a somewhat lab-like setting, complemented by a warehouse area with organized shelving that holds items to be shipped or received. The role follows an 8-hour shift scheduled between 7:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with team coverage needed until 6:00 p.m. to receive the last FedEx packages, so flexibility to work later within that window is important. A 30-minute lunch break is provided, and some overtime is available based on workload and operational needs. You will work with ERP systems such as Deltek Costpoint and possibly SAP, along with scanners, computers, and standard office and warehouse equipment in a structured, orderly setting focused on accurate material handling and inventory control.
