Tryon is seeking an Inventory Specialist to support daily sales review, audits, and accurate stocking across the warehouse in North Carolina. The role emphasizes attention to detail, urgency, and safe warehouse practices to ensure timely product availability for customers.

The position involves daily stock counts, cycle counts, and implementing action plans. Proficiency with safety protocols and equipment operation is required, with a Monday–Friday schedule and full-time benefits.

Responsibilities

• Research and complete daily out of stock reports.
• Perform daily counts of high value items under supervision.
• Execute weekly cycle counts and identify improvement opportunities.
• Create action plans and communicate to management.
• Organize and optimize warehouse inventory locations.
• Move products between pallets and shelving.
• Operate the conveyor belt system.
• Follow SOPs and instructions.
• Be aware of safety hazards around forklifts and power equipment.
• Operate forklifts and other power equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job purpose

The Inventory Specialist helps keep our craft beer and wine operation running smoothly by reviewing daily sales reports, conducting audits, and ensuring products are accurately stocked and placed. This role requires strong attention to detail, a sense of urgency, and a commitment to safe, efficient warehouse practices. By supporting inventory accuracy and flow, the Inventory Specialist helps ensure our customers get the right products in a timely manner, making sure every bottle or keg is ready for the enjoyment of all!

Duties and responsibilities

• Research and complete daily out of stock reports
• Under direct supervision, perform daily counts of high value items
• Execute weekly cycle counts and look for opportunities for improvement
• Create an action plan to achieve improvement goals and communicate this plan to management
• Create and condense inventory locations in the warehouse
• Move product from pallet jack to shelving or vice versa
• Move and place product on the automatic conveyer belt system
• Read and follow instructions and SOPs
• Be aware of potential safety hazards, such as moving forklifts and other power equipment
• Operate forklifts and other power equipment
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

REQUIRED

• Ability to lift up to 175lbs
• Must be a team player and work well under minimum supervision
• Knowledge of safe work practices
• Ability to work in a warehouse environment in all types of weather
• Ability to work required shift as scheduled or assigned
• Available to work overtime as needed
• Ability to work within tight time constraints in a fast-paced environment

PREFERRED

• High School Diploma or GED
• Prior warehouse or distribution center experience
• Prior experience or certification on power equipment (forklift, pallet jack, reach truck)

Working conditions

The employee will primarily perform work in these areas:

• Warehouse

The noise level in these areas is normally moderate.

Physical requirements

• Must be able to safely lift up to 30 lbs. continually (15+ loads/hour), up to 50 lbs. frequently (10-15 loads/hour), and between 75–175 lbs. occasionally (1-10 loads/hour)
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, twist, kneel, squat, and reach continually (5-8 hours/day)
• Must be able to perform repetitive hand/foot motions and climb frequently (3-5 hours/day)
