Our Client is seeking an Inventory Specialist who manages and monitors the flow of product inventory, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in stocking, receiving, and tracking.
They are responsible for maintaining inventory levels, identifying slow-moving items, and implementing processes to minimize costs while ensuring product availability.
What Are the Key Responsibilities?
- Tracking and Monitoring Inventory: Accurately recording and tracking all inventory movements, including shipments, deliveries, and sales.
- Ensuring Product Availability: Maintaining optimal stock levels to minimize shortages and ensure products are readily available for sale.
- Managing Inventory Systems: Utilizing inventory management software and systems to track data, generate reports, and manage inventory flow.
- Identifying Slow-Moving Items: Analyzing inventory data to identify slow-moving or outdated products and recommending appropriate actions.
- Receiving and Inspecting Shipments: Verifying the accuracy of incoming shipments against purchase orders and inspecting products for quality.
- Performing Cycle Counts: Regularly performing cycle counts to verify inventory accuracy and reconcile discrepancies.
- Creating Reports: Generating reports on inventory levels, sales data, and other relevant metrics to inform management decisions.
- Collaborating with Other Departments: Working with purchasing and sales to ensure smooth inventory flow.
What is Expected Daily?
- Perform cycle counts as a daily routine.
- Develop policies and procedures to maintain the organization’s long-term competitive position and profitability.
- Maintain knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environment processes.
- Complete daily and weekly safety walks/checks.
- Ensure all safety training and documentation are completed.
- Work with team members to identify and eliminate safety risks.
- Update inventory management systems when TOs or POs move in or out of the location.
- Coordinate with the Plant Manager and Operations Supervisor to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Maintain a neat and safe work environment.
- Create and maintain partnerships with vendors.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
What are the Physical Requirements?
- Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts and other equipment, with proper training and certification.
- Load and unload trucks as required.
- Use computerized warehouse management systems and related tools.
- Operate Pallet Jacks, sit-down or stand-up forklifts, Reach trucks, and Cherry Pickers.
