Michigan Sugar Company has an immediate, full-time opportunity for a Inventory Specialist, located at the Corporate Office, 122 Uptown Drive, Bay City, MI 48708.

JOB SUMMARY

The Inventory Specialist is responsible for all accounting processes related to inventory. This would include reviewing, posting, invoicing, of all inventory transactions and shipments.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review/correct all inventory transactions (production, invoicing, transfers, adjustments, purchases, swaps) for all products (sugar, packaging, byproducts, pressed pulp, lime, stone, soil, miscellaneous sales).
• Review and post monthly cycle counts for finished goods and packaging inventory.
• Coordinate fiscal year-end physical inventories across multiple locations and departments
• Provide testing\training\documentation for all systems used for inventory and shipments (Rapid, Peoplesoft, Byproduct Transfers, Business System and Factory Operating).
• Provide information and reports to management, including Bank Borrowing reports.
• Prepare monthly inventory entries for miscellaneoussales, over pack, loss/gain.
• Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations to the general ledger for purchased product cost of sales, pressed pulp, lime, miscellaneoussales.
• Miscellaneous duties as assigned by management.
• Supervise, manage, develop, and collaborate with the Inventory Assistant.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate Degree, or two years of college or related training.
• Minimum two years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of inventory and general accounting process and procedures.
• Experience using Excel, Outlook, PeopleSoft, Word, or other Accounting software.
