Qualifications

• High School Diploma and inventory processing experience preferred.
• Minimum of one year as Pharmacy Technician with inventory knowledge.
• Experience with pharmacy software and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Complete assignments in compliance with state/federal laws and internal policies.
• Receive and stock daily vendor orders via inventory and pharmacy software.
• Maintain inventory levels and perform cycle counts.
• Investigate and correct discrepancies in balance on hand.
• Track expiration dates and ensure FIFO stock rotation.
• Handle returns and drug transfers between pharmacies.
• Dispose of hazardous drugs per USP 800 guidelines.
• Maintain clean, safe pharmacy bays with weekly schedules.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Details: Job Location: Parkview Health Services - Buffalo, NY, Position Type: Full Time, Salary Range: $19.00 - $22.00Hourly

Position Summary The Inventory Specialist supports accurate, compliant, and efficient inventory management across assigned pharmacy location. This role ensures accurate inventory levels, timely ordering, proper storage and handling, invoice reconciliation, and full compliance with medications.

Primary Responsibilities

• Complete job assignments in compliance and with understanding of the State and Federal laws and internal policies and procedures governing the handling, dispensing and distribution of medications dispensed by the company.
• Complete the receiving and placement/stocking of daily vendor orders via inventory and pharmacy software.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels and a consistent inventory cycle count process.
• Report, investigate, and correct any inconsistencies, errors, or discrepancies of balance on hand.
• Track medication expiration dates and ensure First-In, First-Out stock rotation.
• Handle Return to Stock drugs using automation and daily workflow, verifying lot numbers and expiration dates.
• Log out-of-date, recalled, returned, and damaged/expired medications.
• Oversee and approve drug stock transfers between pharmacies in assigned jurisdiction.
• Maintain proper handling and disposal of hazardous drugs within USP 800 guidelines.
• Maintain integrity of Pharmacy bays by creating and implementing a weekly cleaning schedule for a clean and safe work environment.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Proficient computer skills and ability to easily navigate through varying pharmacy systems and Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook) applications.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently on assigned tasks or in a team setting while focused on detail, accuracy, and productivity.
• Proven experience as a highly effective communicator with internal and external customers; includes listening, speaking, understanding, and writing in English.
• Ability to lift and move heavy packages (up to 30 lbs.) in compliance with safe handling procedures.

Education/Experience Requirements

• High School Diploma and additional experience with inventory processing highly preferred.
• Minimum of one year’s experience working as a Pharmacy Technician with working knowledge of inventory and fulfilment process, maintaining proper inventory in the pharmacy strongly preferred.
