About the Role
Electric Era Technologies is hiring an Inventory, Shipping & Receiving Specialist to keep material moving accurately from the dock to the production floor and out to the field. You will own the physical flow of parts and finished EV charging equipment: receiving and inspecting inbound material, keeping inventory records accurate, building kits for production and field service, and shipping outbound orders safely and on time.
This is a hands-on, on-site role. You will work daily with production, maintenance, engineering, and supply chain. You will be a key link between what the system says and what is actually on the shelf.
Key Responsibilities
Receiving and quality inspection
- Receive inbound shipments, verify contents against purchase orders and packing slips, and log receipts in the inventory system the same day.
- Perform incoming quality inspection: check part numbers, quantities, revisions, and visible damage; quarantine and tag nonconforming material.
- Document discrepancies and damage with photos and work with supply chain to resolve them with suppliers and carriers.
Inventory control and accuracy
- Put away material to correct, labeled locations and keep the warehouse organized using 5S practices.
- Run cycle counts and support physical inventories; report metrics to finance/supply chain
- Maintain accurate transactions for receipts, issues, transfers, and adjustments so system quantities match what is on the shelf.
- Monitor stock levels and flag shortages, excess, and obsolete material to supply chain.
Material management and kitting
- Pick and build kits for production work orders and field service jobs to the bill of materials, on schedule.
- Stage material at point of use and replenish line-side stock for production.
- Issue spare parts and consumables to maintenance and track usage against work orders.
Shipping and package handling
- Pick, pack, label, and ship outbound orders, including large freight, palletized equipment, and parcel.
- Prepare bills of lading, packing lists, and shipping labels; work with logistics to schedule carrier pickups and track shipments with production
- Handle daily package drop-offs and outgoing parcel runs.
- Secure, wrap, and band loads so equipment arrives undamaged.
- Operate a forklift, walkie stacker, and pallet jacks safely to load, unload, move, and stage material.
- Complete daily pre-use equipment inspections and report defects.
Cross-functional support
- Partner with production on material priorities, shortages, and kit readiness.
- Support maintenance with parts availability and spares tracking.
- Provide finance with accurate counts, receipt data, and variance explanations for month-end.
- Work with supply chain on inbound schedules, expedites, returns, and supplier issues.
- Work closely with engineering on part order accuracy
- Follow all safety procedures and keep the dock and warehouse clean and hazard-free.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in inventory control, warehouse, or shipping and receiving in a manufacturing or production environment
- Experience working closely with production, maintenance, engineering, and supply chain teams
- Hands-on experience with receiving inspection, cycle counting, kitting, and outbound shipping
- Safe, proficient operation of a forklift, walkie stacker, and pallet jacks; current forklift certification or ability to obtain one within 30 days
- Experience with an ERP or inventory management system and basic computer skills (spreadsheets, email)
- Ability to read packing slips, purchase orders, bills of materials, and part drawings or labels
- Strong attention to detail and a track record of keeping records accurate
- Clear communicator who flags problems early and follows through
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in electrical equipment, EV charging, energy, or similar hardware manufacturing
- Familiarity with freight shipping (LTL and FTL), bills of lading, and carrier portals
- Experience shipping large, heavy, or high-value equipment, including crating and load securement
- Knowledge of quality practices such as nonconforming material handling, lot or serial traceability, and ESD-safe handling
- Experience with project management software (atlassian)
- Exposure to lean manufacturing, 5S, or kanban replenishment
- Hazmat shipping training (for example, lithium batteries) or willingness to be trained
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Regularly lift and carry up to 50 lb; move heavier loads with equipment or team lifts
- Stand, walk, bend, reach, and climb for most of an 8-hour shift
- Work in a warehouse and dock environment with temperature changes, noise, and moving equipment
- Wear required PPE, including safety-toe footwear, high-visibility vest, gloves, safety glasses and hardhats
- Occasional overtime or flexible hours to support shipments, inventory counts, and production needs
