Job summary

thyssenkrupp Materials NA is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Clerk to accurately enter materials and goods into inventory. The role acts as the primary contact for shipments, orders and inventory and operates on the warehouse floor around heavy machinery.

The position requires basic math/reading, strong communication, and forklift/packing experience, with an emphasis on safety and documentation accuracy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic math and reading skills expected.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Interpersonal skills to communicate with plant personnel and sales staff.
• Ability to understand equipment and tolerances from past experience.
• Warehouse experience with forklift, packing and measuring.
• Safety mindset is essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate records of items shipped and received.
• Oversees safe and reliable packaging of all outgoing shipments.
• Process items for shipment according to established guidelines and procedures.
• Review shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods.
• Review international shipment documentation for compliance.
• Maintain timely, effective communications with customers and suppliers.
• Responsible for record keeping, filing and other administrative duties.
• Follow safety policies and report accidents.
• Work on warehouse floor around heavy machinery.
• Meet TKNA employee attributes and competencies.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
