Job summary

The County of El Paso seeks a Purchasing and Inventory Control Clerk to work under supervision in purchasing and warehousing, distributing, storing and inventorying county supplies, materials, equipment and other hard assets.

Responsibilities include taking inventories, tagging and bar-coding items, inspecting goods, handling mail and print shop duties, and maintaining records of stock and movement. Strong accuracy and confidentiality are required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of English usage, grammar, punctuation and spelling; modern office procedures and computer equipment.

Responsibilities

• Takes inventories of items in stock and maintains optimum inventory levels to ensure timely deliveries.
• Oversees storage and distribution of purchased goods; maintains stock records and issues.
• Performs clerical, recordkeeping, and warehouse work coordinating all commodities and equipment movement and storage; maintains attendance, teamwork and confidentiality.
