Job summary

ABC Supply Co. Inc. is seeking an experienced Purchasing professional to assist with inventory management, cycle counts, and product ordering.

The role involves determining customer needs, following ABC’s product checklist, upselling supplies, and coordinating with warehouses to ensure product availability. Ideal candidates will have 1–2 years of purchasing experience, strong communication skills, and solid organizational abilities.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years’ experience in purchasing and inventory control is preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Solid time management and prioritization skills.
• Superior organizational skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Cycle counting product experience.

Responsibilities

• Determine customers’ needs and recommend appropriate products and solutions
• Follow product/supply checklist for each customer’s job and upsell additional products
• Answer customer questions and offer product advice
• Order products from other ABC Supply branches when necessary
• Arrange with the warehouse for customer product pickup
• Reorder products to keep shelves stocked
• Address and resolve customer concerns when necessary
• Order from manufacturers and related vendors
• Receive inbound material into system
• Perform cycle counts

Specific duties may include:

• Determining customers’ needs and recommending appropriate products and solutions
• Following ABC’s product/supply checklist for each customer’s specific job and up-selling additional products and supplies for that job
• Answering customer questions and offering product advice
• Ordering products from other ABC Supply branches when necessary
• Arranging with the warehouse for customer product pickup
• Reordering products to keep the store and warehouse shelves well stocked
• Addressing and resolving customer concerns when necessary
• Ordering from manufacturers and related vendors
• Receiving inbound material into system
• Performing cycle counts
