Job summary

United Legwear & Apparel Company in New York City is seeking an Inventory & Procurement Assistant to support inventory control, coordinate production orders, and maintain accurate reporting across departments.

You will partner with sales, production and finance, monitor inventory accuracy, assist in approvals for production buys, and help ensure correct product setup and coding to drive efficient operations. Bachelor’s degree plus 1–2 years of related experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 1–2 years of related experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office including Excel and databases.
• Strong business judgment and urgency with ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication to create reports.
• Strong attention to detail to maintain accurate inventories.
• Ability to analyze data and draw clear conclusions with problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Sales on production placement for prebooked and projected orders.
• Prepare weekly inventory reports.
• Prepare end-of-month close reports from ERP system.
• Assist in approval process for all production buys.
• Assist in managing slow-moving and discontinued inventory.
• Monitor weekly inventory reports and ensure correct coding in reports.
• Manage label code assignments for customer requests.
• Support other duties to assist the department.

About the Job

At ULAC, t he Inventory & Procurement Assistant supports inventory management and procurement operations by coordinating production orders, maintaining inventory reporting, and partnering with cross-functional teams. This role is responsible for monitoring inventory accuracy, supporting production buy approvals, managing inventory processes, and ensuring accurate product setup and coding to help drive efficient business operations.

What You Will Do:

• Collaborate with the Sales team on production placement against prebooked and projected orders for ad hoc and seasonal buys.
• Prepare weekly inventory reports.
• Prepare end-of-month close reports generated from the ERP system.
• Assist in managing the approval process of all production buys
• Assist in managing slow-moving and discontinued inventory processes.
• Assist in monitoringweeklyinventoryreportsandmerchandisestylecodingtoensureallinventoryis accurately coded and appearing on the correct inventory reports.
• Manage label code assignments for customer-specific requests.
• Perform any other duties as assigned in support of the company's needs and operations.

What You Bring:

• Bachelor’s Degree and 1-2 years of job-related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Office (intermediate to advanced Excel) and database systems.
• Strong business judgement and sense of urgency and can work independently under critical time frames and work on multiple assignments.
• Excellent written and verbal skills to communicate well with others to implement inventory control plans and skills for the creation of reports required.
• Strong attention to detail to notice inventory discrepancies and maintain accurate inventory counts.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret data and draw valid conclusions that show understanding and insight with excellent problem-solving skills.
• Ability to be extremely flexible and adaptable in completing a diverse range of assignments in a timely manner and adaptable to change and can prioritize projects and workload.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment and ability to apply good work habits to effectively complete assigned tasks and contribute to the smooth operation of the department and company.
