Inventory Planner – P5 Performance
Location: Orange County, CA (Newport Beach area) Type: Full-time
About Us
P5 Performance is the private-label apparel and accessories provider behind some of the biggest fitness club chains in the country. We design, develop, and produce all our private label products, both domestically and overseas. We're a small, fast-moving team, and we're growing, so this role will help shape how we scale.
The Role
Here's the opportunity: our products sell, and we need someone to keep the right ones in stock.
You'll run inventory planning across multiple client programs, each with its own product line and factory lead times. You'll forecast demand, set reorder points, rank SKUs by value and importance (ABC analysis), and recommend reorders before anything runs dry. You'll do it the modern way, with AI tools doing the heavy lifting, and over time you'll grow into broader business planning.
What You'll Do
- Own SKU-level forecasts of how fast each client orders from our stock, including estimating true demand where past stockouts make the sales history look lower than it really was
- Set and maintain reorder points and safety stock for every SKU, accounting for lead times that vary by factory, freight included
- Rank SKUs by sales value and strategic importance, and work with sales to direct limited open-to-buy dollars to the highest-priority items
- Recommend slow-moving SKUs to discontinue
- Recommend reorders to our production team, who place them with our overseas factories and domestic production partners
- Build and run a weekly in-stock and at-risk report for leadership
- Keep inventory data in our ERP accurate and matched to our 3PL
- Pull client sales reports into one clean dataset you can plan from
- Combine report data with feedback from account executives and clients to plan for demand shifts
- Over time, expand into broader business planning and analytics
First 90 Days
- Get a clear view of current stock, open POs, and stockout risk across all SKUs
- Set reorder points for every SKU
- Recommend any reorders that are already at risk
- Deliver a recurring in-stock report that leadership trusts
- Identify other areas of the business where your planning skills can make an impact
What You Bring
- 4+ years of inventory, supply, or demand planning experience in apparel
- A strong grasp of reorder points, safety stock, lead times, size runs, and forecasting
- Hands-on, daily use of AI tools for analysis and forecasting, with real examples to show
- Experience prioritizing inventory investment, such as ABC analysis, and managing to an open-to-buy budget
- Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with variable data from many sources
- Experience with an ERP system (Xoro experience a plus)
- A builder's mindset: you're entrepreneurial and have your own ideas for how you'd lead planning for our company
- Clear communication and an owner's sense of accountability
Why You'll Love It
- Real ownership: this is your function to build, not a seat in a big department
- Your impact shows up fast, in every order that ships complete
- An AI-first mindset: you'll be one of our go-to AI power users, with room to apply those skills across the business
Interview Exercise
Finalists will get a sample of real sales and inventory data. Using any AI tools they like, they'll build reorder points for a set of SKUs, then walk us through how they did it.
Compensation
$85,000–$90,000 base salary, plus an annual bonus of 10–15% tied to in-stock performance.
