Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking an Inventory Planner to perform inventory planning and control. Located in Cranberry Township, PA, the role supports the team in a hybrid capacity, 2-3 days in the office, reporting to the Inventory Manager.

Responsibilities include managing MRP requisitions, forecasting material usage, coordinating with Purchasing and Engineering, and driving process improvements using SAP.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of related experience.
  • APICS/CPIM certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of discrete and continuous manufacturing processes preferred.
  • Experience with SAP or other ERP; knowledge of MRP, inventory management, forecasting, and purchasing.
  • Familiarity with Material Master creation, BOM creation and workflow preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Build relationships with internal customers and teams to enable dialogue.
  • Review, validate, and implement MRP requisitions to meet demand.
  • Meet on-time delivery and inventory goals via forecasts and stock levels in SAP.
  • Work with Purchasing to support production and inventory plans.
  • Review excess/obsolete inventory and identify internal uses to minimize losses.
  • Participate in process-improvement teams using SAP modules.
  • Identify actions to achieve tasks and meet quotas and performance goals.
  • Help establish processes aligned with company guidelines and inventory best practices.
  • Support inventory management metrics for site and business unit.
  • Deliver training on processes and software; coach personnel.
  • Prioritize safety and Human Performance.

About the role:

As an Inventory Planner you will perform inventory planning and inventory control abilities for our team goals.

You will report to the Inventory Manager and be located at Cranberry Township, PA. You will support this role in a hybrid capacity working 2-3 days in the office.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build value-adding relationships with internal customers and important working organizations including Customer Service, Project Engineering, Product Engineering, Manufacturing, and Finance by communicating openly and respectfully to create dialogue.
  • Review, validate, and implement MRP generated requisitions to meet business and customer demand.
  • Meet on-time delivery and inventory goals by developing material usage forecasts and inventory strategies. This includes maintaining forecasted demand, as well as re-order points/safety stock into SAP ERP for all important products.
  • Work with Purchasing to ensure material support of the production and inventory plan.
  • Work with product engineering to review and disposition excess and obsolete inventory, and identify uses across the market for this inventory to minimize losses.
  • Participate on process improvement teams and implement recommendations to improve functional efficiency through use of SAP and related modules.
  • Identify actions necessary to achieve task completion and to obtain results, quotas, and performance goals.
  • Help establish and implement processes that are consistent with Company Guidelines and Business Unit Policies and Procedures, and inventory and supply management best practices.
  • Support important inventory management performance metrics per site, and for Business Unit to attain financial metrics.
  • Participate in delivery of training programs on process and associated software tools. Coach personnel in using software tools to implement Westinghouse inventory management processes.
  • Eliminate error-likely situations by prioritizing safety and Human Performance.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • We prefer an Associate's/Bachelor's degree
  • Must have 2 years of related experience.
  • We prefer APICS/CPIM certification.
  • We prefer knowledge of discrete and continuous manufacturing processes.
  • We require SAP or other ERP experience, with the candidate possessing specific knowledge of MRP, inventory management, forecasting, and purchasing.
  • We prefer knowledge of system-based Material Master creation, Bill Of Materials creation, and Workflow.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $64,800 to $81,000 per year.
