Job summary

Standard Textile in Cincinnati is seeking an Inventory Planner to optimize inventory across distribution centers, balance supply and demand, and drive service levels. You will collaborate with Sales, Operations, Customer Service, Procurement, and Supply Chain to implement replenishment strategies and analyze data for strategic decisions.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (2-5 years), strong Excel skills, and experience with Oracle Fusion and Salesforce.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (2-5 years' experience).
  • Proficiency in spreadsheets (min. intermediate-level Microsoft Excel skills).
  • Experience in inventory planning, supply chain planning, demand planning, replenishment, inventory control, or related analytical roles.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management principles, including inventory balancing, replenishment planning, safety stock, inventory turns, and capacity management.
  • Experience with inventory management or planning systems; Oracle Fusion and Salesforce experience preferred.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to identify inventory risks, evaluate data, and develop actionable recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage KPIs such as backorder reduction, inventory utilization, order fulfillment performance, and inventory positioning.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining accurate planning data, inventory records, and reporting.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to build partnerships across Operations, Customer Service, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain.

Responsibilities

  • Manage inventory levels across distribution centers to maintain optimal product availability while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.
  • Monitor and reduce backorder risk through proactive inventory planning, replenishment management, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Analyze inventory imbalances and execute inventory transfers and rebalancing strategies to improve product availability and service levels.
  • Monitor distribution center capacity utilization and recommend actions to maintain efficient use of storage space while supporting operational requirements.
  • Review inventory positioning across the distribution network and identify opportunities to improve order fulfillment performance and reduce Wrong DC shipments.
  • Maintain and update planning parameters, master data, and inventory-related system information to ensure planning accuracy.
  • Manage inventory planning and replenishment activities for consignment accounts.
  • Develop inventory risk mitigation plans related to backorders, capacity constraints, inventory shortages, and slow-moving inventory.
  • Create and distribute inventory performance reports, KPI scorecards, and planning analyses that support business decision-making.
  • Partner with Sales, Operations, Customer Service, Procurement, and Supply Chain teams to resolve inventory issues and improve planning effectiveness.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on inventory optimization, service improvement, and process efficiency.
  • Prepare reports in monthly business reviews and planning meetings to provide inventory insights, performance updates, and recommendations.
  • Participate in special projects and strategic supply chain initiatives as assigned.
  • Provide cross-functional backup support for Salesforce-related processes and activities.
