Job summary

Veritiv, based in the United States, seeks an Inventory Optimization Specialist to lead dead and excess inventory management across regions. You will reduce aged inventory, assess performance against contracts, and coordinate national transfers to relocate stock efficiently.

The role requires collaboration with operations, sales, and customer service, plus experience with ERP/CRM systems. Hybrid work is available with a mix of on-site and remote days.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Business, Finance, Logistics or Engineering preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and influence without direct authority.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proactive with strong prioritization and time management.

Responsibilities

• Daily dead & excess inventory review to determine actions (Broker, Discount, Dispose, Return, Sell Thru or Transfer).
• Run monthly calls with regional sales managers and operations to review top D&E by dollar value.
• Update inventory parameters to prevent the reorder of dead items.
• Process stock transfers to locations where product is selling.
• Conduct CDI performance reviews with regional teams on a monthly basis.
• Review reports showing potential D&E codes with no activity in months.
• Develop relationships with operations, customer service, supply chain to streamline processes.
• Work with Sourcing, Segment Managers, and National Accounts as needed.
