Inventory Manager
Location: Vernon, California (Onsite Only)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:30 PM
Are you someone who walks into a warehouse and instantly sees how to make it run smoother, cleaner, and more efficiently?
Our client — a long standing, family run manufacturing company in Vernon, CA — is looking for an Inventory Manager to bring structure and leadership to a busy, hands on warehouse environment.
This is a highly visible role where you’ll be the operational backbone of inventory accuracy.
You’ll work directly on the warehouse floor, partnering with assembly, receiving, production, and engineering teams to ensure materials flow correctly in a make to order manufacturing setting.
If you enjoy solving problems, organizing chaos, and building systems that actually work, this role could be a great match.
What You’ll Do
- Fully own inventory control — this role does not include purchasing.
- Set up and maintain bin locations across a 100,000 sq. ft. warehouse with ~5,000 SKUs.
- Lead cycle counts and physical inventories, including reconciliation and root cause analysis.
- Implement and enforce FIFO for all outbound materials.
- Oversee inventory flow for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods across warehouse and production lines.
- Bring order to a fast moving environment where 30+ assembly employees are building, disassembling, and moving product daily.
- Identify and correct incoming and outgoing discrepancies.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align inventory with schedules.
- Introduce lean inventory practices to reduce waste and improve turnover.
- Maintain and improve inventory control systems for real time visibility.
- Mentor and guide warehouse staff, promoting accuracy, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Work hands on in the warehouse every day — this is not a desk only role.
What You Bring
- 5+ years of inventory and materials management experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong background in warehouse organization and inventory flow.
- Experience managing raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
- Ability to bring structure to a busy, high touch warehouse environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and cross department collaboration skills.
- Bachelor’s degree required (Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field preferred).
- A mindset for accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Comfort working fully onsite in a small company, family oriented culture.
Why This Role Stands Out
- Join a stable, family run company with over 30 years of success.
- Make a direct impact on warehouse efficiency and production flow.
- Work in a culture where your ideas matter and your expertise is valued.
- Be the key driver of inventory accuracy in a growing manufacturing operation.
