The Veterans Health Administration seeks an Inventory Manager within the Logistics Service of a VA Health Care System to oversee the inventory of expendable supplies and durable medical equipment in the assigned catchment area.

The role plans and reviews all inventory processes, conducts wall-to-wall inventories, maintains perpetual inventory accounts for expendable items, and supports acquisition strategies for DME. The schedule is Monday–Friday; this is not a virtual position.

Job description

Department: Department of Veterans Affairs

This position serves as an Inventory Manager in the Logistics Service in a Veteran Affairs Health Care System (VA HCS) and supported catchment area with responsibility for the inventory management of all expendable supplies and durable medical equipment (DME) in the assigned area(s).

Key Responsibilities

Plans and reviews all inventory processes, functions, and related systems. Conducts wall-to-wall and periodic inventories Maintains perpetual inventory accounts for expendable items. Develops and supports the creation of acquisition strategies and standardization initiatives to acquire and purchase durable medical equipment.

Researches opportunities for and conducts analysis of potential cost savings, efficiencies, and process improvements using quantitative and historical usage patterns. Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.
