Job summary

Shelby County Schools in Memphis seeks a Warehouse Associate to manage stock, process incoming materials, and ensure accurate inventory records. You will supervise temporary workers, operate forklifts, and coordinate with sites to move surplus furniture and equipment.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, valid driver’s license, and the ability to perform cycle counts, verify invoices, and maintain safe loading practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Logistics or related field, or a combination of equivalent education and/or directly relevant experience totaling four (4) years.

Responsibilities

• Recommends process changes to management regarding stock and materials, School Dude System, APECS and related matters.
• Leads handling of major stock received or disbursements.
• Conducts physical and cycle counts; investigates discrepancies and reports statistics to management.
• Receives and checks incoming materials against invoices and requisitions; inspects for defects and reports discrepancies.
• Loads/unloads stock and arranges pallets for storage or transport; ensures safe loading of trucks and forklifts.
• Maintains accurate inventory records using computerized data entry; supports site movements and transfers.
• Operates and maintains warehouse equipment; inspects for safe operation.
• Prepares work records and performs clerical duties, including inquiries from school personnel and Central Office staff.
• Travels to various sites to verify furniture/equipment earmarked for disposal or transfer.
