Job summary

Southwire Company, LLC in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a warehouse inventory associate on the 3rd shift to support production and shipping through accurate cycle counts and stock verification.

You will perform counts, audits and labeling while following safety rules and using warehouse systems. A high school diploma and ability to lift 50–75 lbs are required; benefits include 401k, insurance, PTO, tuition reimbursement, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read, count accurately, perform simple math and write legibly.
• Must follow written and verbal instructions explicitly.
• Must handle deadlines and work well under pressure.
• Familiarity with warehouse operating systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counting and investigate discrepancies.
• Perform material counts and verify against system records.
• Audit transfers and receipts for PO accuracy and compliance with specifications.
• Investigate and report customer-reported errors to Purchasing Department.
• Generate and apply bar code labels for product identification.
• Execute inventory control transactions and report major discrepancies to Operations Manager.
• Cross-train for various supervisory and clerical roles in the warehouse.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized work area and follow safety procedures.

Job Description

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• 1. Ensure inventory accuracy through directed Cycle Counting, researching discrepancies, implementing corrective actions and ensuring completion of corrective actions.
• 2. Perform material counts.
• 3. Verify reported inventory vs. against physical count of stock and adjusts errors in computation or count or investigate and report reasons for discrepancies.
• 4. Audit product transfers and receipts for PO accuracy and adherence to DFW CSC specifications.
• 5. Investigate and report back on customer reported errors internally to 11th St. Purchasing Department.
• 6. Generate bar code labels and label product for ID purposes.
• 7. Perform Inventory control transactions and report major discrepancies to Operations Manager.
• 8. Cross train for a variety of supervisory and clerical roles in the warehouse and ability to fill in as needed.

ENVIRONMENTAL/SAFETY:

• 1. Follow all company environmental rules/procedures and handle all materials in a manner designed to minimize environmental impact.
• 2. Follow prescribed safety rules/procedures in an effort to prevent injury to self and others.
• 3. Seek the assistance and advice of safety representatives on matters concerning safe practices, policies and/or procedures and provide support for all safety committee activity.
• 4. Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area.
• 5. Report environmental and safety policy violations to supervision/management.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• 1. Normal warehouse working conditions, shift schedule may vary.
• 2. Must be capable of standing and walking for extended periods.
• 3. Must be able to twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level and crouch on a frequent basis.
• 4. Must be able to use proper techniques to lift 50-75 pounds.
• 5. Must be able to use hands and feet simultaneously and for repetitive movements.

PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• 1. High school diploma, or equivalent, is required.
• 2. Must be able to read, count accurately, do simple math (add, subtract, multiply, divide) and write legibly.
• 3. Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions explicitly.
• 4. Judgments concerning operation of department are encountered.
• 5. Must have outstanding work habits.
• 6. Must be familiar with warehouse operating systems.
• 7. Must be able to handle stress caused in meeting deadlines with tight scheduling requirements.
• 8. Must be able to shift priorities easily.
• 9. Must be able to work well with others.
