Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. seeks an Inventory Technical Accounting Manager to provide US GAAP technical accounting support across the company’s entities.

You will partner with senior leaders on complex inventory topics, lead teams, and educate the accounting organization with US GAAP training. In this role you will collaborate with business units, finance teams, and external auditors, applying deep technical knowledge, strong communication, and strategic thinking to impact financial reporting and business

Qualifications

• Solid practical experience involving US GAAP technical accounting.
• 10+ years of progressively responsible experience including inventory accounting.
• CPA, CMA or related certification.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate strong knowledge of US GAAP inventory accounting principles and disclosure requirements.
• Understand complex transactions and accounting issues across inventory topics.
• Learn and adapt to new accounting matters quickly.
• Research complex topics independently and document conclusions.
• Collaborate with other Technical Accounting Managers on acquisitions, divestitures, and restructurings.
• Lead and direct teams; provide guidance to accounting partners and explain impacts on business results.
• Develop and provide US GAAP training to the accounting organization.
