As a Smart Shop Exempt Department Manager, you will oversee department operations which could include:

1. Perishable departments
2. Center store
3. Inventory Flow
4. Receiving
5. Shelf Edge

Responsibilities:

1. Use independent judgment in making employment-related and business decisions.
2. Manage people, staffing, and training for area of focus.
3. Review and analyze financial and performance reports, identifying opportunities/issues.
4. Conduct detailed store and/or department walks.
5. Monitor and report on inventory estimates and Direct Store Delivery (DSD) accounting.
6. Create weekly schedules to meet the needs of the business.
7. Ensure proper order and inventory levels within your department.
8. Participate in the store leadership team to ensure coordination and alignment of total store plans.
9. Focus on Partner/customer relationships and collaboration.

What is your background?

1. Completion of H-E-B's or JVSS's Management Training Program.
2. Operational/Retail Management experience.
3. Leadership experience in a complex environment with multiple direct reports.
4. Thorough understanding of retail accounting.
5. Experience in ordering, inventory maintenance, and shrink control.
6. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including night shifts.

What training is required?

1. Successful completion of JVSS or H-E-B School of Retail Management (SORM).
