Job summary

Leslie's is seeking an Inventory Cycle Counter to maintain accurate inventory by daily cycle counts, tracking raw materials, components, and finished goods, and supporting production needs in our Illinois facility.

You will monitor receipts and movements, use the ICS, identify replenishment needs, and collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, and quality teams to improve accuracy and efficiency. Prior warehouse experience and forklift operation are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• 1–3 years of inventory control, cycle counting, or related warehouse experience preferred.
• Experience operating standing and seated forklifts.
• Experience using inventory management systems preferred.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate inventory records.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to investigate inventory discrepancies and communicate findings effectively.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cycle counts of raw materials, components, and finished goods to maintain inventory accuracy and support production needs.
• Monitor and communicate the receipt, movement, and disbursement of materials and finished goods.
• Record inventory movements and transactions in the Inventory Control System (ICS).
• Monitor inventory levels, identify depleted items or materials reaching reorder points, and place replenishment orders as needed.
• Identify, investigate, and report discrepancies between physical inventory counts and system records.
• Analyze inventory discrepancies, determine potential causes, and communicate findings to the supervisor.
• Assist in planning and conducting periodic physical inventories.
• Prepare inventory reports and analyze data to support management decisions.
• Load, unload, and organize materials on pallets, trays, racks, and shelves to facilitate accurate inventory counts.
• Count, weigh, and record materials received, moved, or handled.
• Safely transport materials using manual handling equipment, pallet jacks, and forklifts.
• Maintain forklift cleanliness and ensure equipment is properly charged and ready for use.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, promptly reporting unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
• Follow plant labeling requirements and ensure chemicals are properly labeled, stored, and handled.
• Identify and recommend improvements to material handling processes and procedures.
• Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of standardized inventory control processes and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Ensure inventory control activities align with established quality management standards and company procedures.
• Assist in documenting customer complaints and nonconformance reports (NCAPs), as applicable.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, and quality assurance teams to address inventory-related concerns and support process improvements.
• Identify opportunities to improve inventory accuracy, operational efficiency, and overall process consistency.
• Partner with cross-functional departments to identify inventory challenges, develop performance measurements, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist in creating, updating, and maintaining departmental standard operating procedures.
• Communicate inventory findings, material shortages, and operational concerns to appropriate departments and management.

Job Overview:
The Inventory Cycle Counter is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records by performing daily cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and ensuring the proper movement and documentation of raw materials, components, and finished goods. This position supports manufacturing operations by monitoring inventory levels, identifying replenishment needs, and maintaining accurate inventory transactions. The role works closely with manufacturing, supply chain, and management to improve inventory accuracy, streamline material handling processes, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Compensation Range: $25.00 - $28.00 /Hourly

Compensation within range to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge and skills, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
