Job summary

Forgent Power is seeking a Manager, Inventory Cost Accountant to oversee cost accounting for inventory across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods. The role partners with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and FP&A to maintain standard costs, analyze variances, and support month-end close with GAAP compliance.

The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years in cost/inventory accounting within manufacturing, ERP experience (SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, Epicor), and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with a strong focus on cost/inventory accounting.
• CPA, CMA, or CPIM certification preferred.
• Experience with ERP systems and cost module configuration is a plus.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP).
• Experience supporting SOX compliance and internal/external audits.
• Demonstrated experience analyzing manufacturing variances and standard costing.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting for raw materials, WIP, finished goods, and unbilled inventory.
• Prepare and analyze reports focusing on inventory performance and COGS.
• Lead month-end close processes including reconciliations and journal entries.
• Maintain standard costs and cost rollups, support variance analysis.
• Lead physical and cycle counts; investigate discrepancies.
• Analyze PPV, manufacturing variances, labor and overhead absorption.
• Manage inventory reserves for excess/obsolete items.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain to identify cost drivers and improvements.
• Support ERP costing module maintenance and system enhancements.
• Assist auditors with inquiries and schedules for audit readiness.
