Job summary

UC Davis is seeking a Storekeeper Sr to purchase supplies, dispense and distribute medical supplies, and maintain inventory. The role includes coordinating oxygen systems and medical gas cylinders, and assisting with housekeeping duties at the UC Davis Hobbs VMC in San Diego.

The position is 100% on-site in San Diego with a 8am-4:30pm Mon-Fri schedule. Salary ranges from $28.06 to $37.05 per hour, bi-weekly pay, and full UC benefits are provided.

Qualifications

  • No minimum education required.
  • Experience maintaining a system of dispensing, recharging and inventory maintenance.
  • General knowledge of purchasing, acquisition and inventory control.
  • Knowledge of medical supplies and instruments.
  • Organizational time management skills to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Computer skills to input and retrieve data.
  • Skills to effectively communicate verbally and in writing to a diverse group of people including clients, clinicians, and staff.

Under general supervision, purchase supplies, dispense and distribute medical supplies, maintain proper inventory levels. Receive, unpack and reconcile incoming shipments. Coordination of oxygen systems and medical gas cylinders, and biohazard waste. Assist with housekeeping duties.

The University of California of Davis Janice K. Hobbs Veterinary Medical Center of Southern California (UCD-Hobbs VMC) is a specialty referral and 24-hour emergency hospital and a clinical extension of the UC Davis Weill School of Veterinary Medicine. Its primary mission is to provide high-quality specialty and emergency veterinary care to patients throughout Southern California and to serve as a trusted referral resource for regional veterinary practices.

As an extension of an academic veterinary medical center, UCD-Hobbs VMC also provides opportunities for clinical education and training, including engagement with veterinary students and other learners. Clinical research and collaboration with UC Davis, UC San Diego, and other partners further support the hospital's mission, but are secondary to its primary clinical service role.

Work Environment

UC Davis is a smoke and tobacco free campus effective January 1, 2014.
