Advocate Health Care is seeking an Inventory Specialist to monitor inventory levels, purchase supplies, and manage the storeroom and two-bin system to support patient care. The role includes processing requisitions, coordinating with vendors, and maintaining data accuracy in Lawson.

Ideal candidates will have a bachelor degree or equivalent experience, strong communication, and hands-on experience with purchasing and inventory control systems.

Department: 11498 Enterprise Corporate - Supply Chain: Operations Christ Hospital and Medical Center Status: Full time Benefits Eligible: Yes Hours Per Week: 40 Schedule Details/Additional Information: 1st shift 6am-2pm Pay Range: $21.85 - $32.80

Major Responsibilities

Responsible for monitoring inventory levels and purchasing supplies as required to avoid stock-outs.

Inventory Level Management

1. 1)Determine appropriate inventory level for each items necessary for patient care
2. 2)Coordinates disposal of outdated or no use items.
3. 3)Issues purchase orders for needed supplies.
4. 4)Review vendor stock-outs, expedites the purchase of additional supplies from alternative vendors.
5. 5)Identifies possible substitute items.
6. 6)Identifies items to be changed, or added, deleted from inventory.
7. Performs product conversions in Lawson.
8. 7)Processes product conversions in Lawson to meet system requirements.
9. 8)Maintains data base in computerized inventory control system. Makes changes to reflect current items in use.
10. 9)Maintains appropriate records and files.

Bin System and Mobile Supply Chain

1. Responsible for managing and maintaining 2 bin system and mobile supply chain.
2. 1)Maintains bins regarding any configuration processes or issues with the proper working condition of mobile supply chain
3. 2)Maintains appropriate supply stock and supply allocations for all bin locations.
4. 3)Communicates regularly with nursing and Advocate supply chain
5. 4)Recommends and adjusts changes concerning configuration and par levels
6. 5)Maintains data and system integrity through report analysis and data base management.

Inventory Expense Requisitions

1. Process inventory expense requisitions for purchase, maintain compliance with established contracts and procedures. Ensure all products received are correct and on time to meet the hospital needs.
2. 1)Establish ordering and delivery schedules with each vendor.
3. 2)Communicate supply request with vendors via electronic system, phone and/or fax requisition.
4. 3)Verify and correct pricing to match contracts.
5. 4)Monitor, communicate and follow-up on product problems and discrepancies to the vendor sales representative.
6. 5)Resolve invoice problems that relate to storeroom inventory.
7. 6)Works with the vendors to obtain credit and/or product exchange for any items nearing expiration.
8. 7)Manages reorder points and reorders quantities to meet the needs of the clinicians and patients.

Product Placement

1. Assist in identifying placement of products in the storeroom.
2. 1)Assists in designs storeroom layout to meet perpetual inventory quantities. Determines where product groups will be stored.
3. 2)Assists in establishing shelf locations and ensures correct identifiers are on labels. Changes locations as conditions warrant.

Education and Experience Required

1. Bach degree preferred or equiv experience.
2. Lead or Supervisory experience.
3. 12 months inventory control experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

1. Good communication and customer relation skills.
2. Good organization skills.
3. Must be computer literate.
4. Experience with purchasing/ inventory control system.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

1. -Ability to do medium lifting according to DOL guidelines.
2. -Ability to perform job functions off campus.
3. -Ability to respond to inquiries regarding supply/inventory issues during off hours.
4. -Ability to work outdoors.
