Overview

Responsible for providing appropriate levels of selected medical and surgical supplies daily to the Emergency backup system to ensure the department is stocked appropriately at all times. Transmits medical supply orders from inpatient and clinic areas to the Material Center and other outside vendors. This is a system job description; facility-specific tasks will be detailed in standard operating procedures and guidelines.

Responsibilities

1. Supervise, oversee, and plan activities related to inventory control in the organization or warehouse environment.
2. Ensure all items in the warehouse are properly received and stored.
3. Maintain proper inventory to meet customer demands efficiently, including reviewing min/max ordering points.
4. Coordinate with management to update them on stock inflow and outflow.
5. Compile inventory data and present reports to management for decision-making, including restock needs.
6. Review inventory balances and count stock items regularly.
7. Keep the warehouse environment clean and compliant with JACHO standards.
8. Perform daily reordering in coordination with purchasing to ensure timely inventory replenishment.
9. Follow up on outstanding purchase orders and expedite back-ordered products.
10. Implement policy changes regarding inventory management.
11. Investigate and improve warehouse inventory processes to enhance customer satisfaction.
12. Retrain warehouse staff as necessary.
13. Maintain and update PAR levels.
14. Ensure all daily JIT and inventory orders are processed and released.
15. Be computer literate and familiar with inventory technology such as Infor (Lawson), handheld devices, Par Excellence, TDSS.
16. Have basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma required; Associate's degree in Computer Science or Business Administration preferred.

Experience: At least 3 years in inventory and material services; 6 years experience with medical and surgical supplies; computer proficiency required.

Skills: Strong knowledge of stock supply systems, experience with PDAD uploads/downloads, maintaining electronic handhelds, familiarity with INFOR preferred, proficiency in Word and Excel, excellent communication skills, and strong math skills.
