Job summary

JC Ford Company in Columbia, TN is expanding its manufacturing plant and seeking an inventory control specialist. You will maintain inventory records, monitor reorder points, and coordinate with customer service and logistics to ensure accurate stock levels and timely deliveries.

Responsibilities

• Perform counts and ensure inventory is accounted for and reported according to company policy.
• Maintain adequate inventory levels to meet customer demand.
• Investigate and correct discrepancies in reported quantities and locations of inventories.
• Assess inventory output to identify productivity trends.
• Manage cycle counts of product inventories regularly.
• Monitor delivery schedule and customer orders.
• Place and receive orders in a timely and accurate manner.
• File claims for defective products discovered.
• Coordinate with customer service and logistics departments.
• Check expiration dates and transfer/remove products as needed.
• Test processes and track performance in data systems to locate issues.
• Establish relationships with suppliers for quality and cost-effective deals.
• Comply with plant safety procedures at all times.
• Document time and work completed via the data collection system.

Become a part of this exciting expansion and growing manufacturing plant in Columbia, TN!!! JC Ford has been around since 1945 providing automated equipment and service to the growing tortilla and tortilla chip industry. We are now hiring for our new home in Columbia, TN. Essential Functions:

Maintains records of materials in inventory and on order. Monitors reorder points and initiates action to replenish stock. Reconciles discrepancies in inventories and notifies supervisor of irregularities.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

• Perform counts and ensure all inventory is accounted for and reported according to company policy
• Maintain adequate inventory levels to meet customer demand
• Investigate and correct discrepancies in reported quantities and locations of all inventories
• Assess inventory output on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis to identify trends in productivity
• Manage cycle counts of product inventories on a regular basis
• Monitor delivery schedule and customer orders
• Place and receive orders in a timely and accurate manner
• File claims when defective products are discovered
• Coordinate with customer service and logistics departments
• Check date-sensitive products for expiration and facilitate removal or transfer of product as needed
• Perform process and system testing and track performance by area to locate and solve problems in data integrity, productivity, and efficiency
• Establish trusted relationships with suppliers to ensure quality service and cost-effective deals
• Comply with plant safety procedures to ensure a safe environment.
• Account for time and work completed via online computer data collection system.

Requirements

Education:

• High school Diploma or similar degree
• GED

Experience and Background:
