Job summary

PowerSecure is seeking an Inventory Control Technician I for an on-site, full-time role in Durham, NC. The technician processes requests, pulls and delivers stock, and handles special orders to the appropriate departments.

A safety-minded, detail-oriented approach in a fast-paced team is essential. Required include a high school diploma or GED, 1 year in manufacturing/inventory control, PIT certification, ability to read and write reports, and basic MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint skills.

Qualifications

• High school Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience in manufacturing and/or inventory control.
• Certification on Powered Industrial Trucks/pallet jacks.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and manuals.
• Ability to write reports.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic in all units of measure.

Description

Summary

The Inventory Technician processes requests, pulling, and delivering of stock items to ordering departments. Also, responsible for receiving and delivering special orders item(s) to the appropriate departments. Ideal candidates for this position must be safety and quality oriented with strict attention to detail while focusing on efficiency. Candidates must possess the willingness and ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• 1 Year of experience in a manufacturing and / or inventory control environment.
• Certification on Powered Industrial Trucks/ pallet jacks.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operations manual, and written directions.
• Ability to write reports.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of general counting, plus the application of general warehousing and logistics theory.
• Must have a basic understanding of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software programs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
• All other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

Standing and walking 6-8 hours each day. Stretching and lifting overhead, bending over to work on lower locations. Must be able to lift up to 50

pounds frequently.

Loud, warm in the summer months- cool in the winter months, dusty, near forklifts.
