Job description

Primary Job Functions

This section describes the primary /essential responsibilities that this job performs.

  • Develop, implement and manage the inventory management process. Serve as a liaison between Supply Chain, Merchandise Planning, Retail Stores, Distribution Center, etc.; help create and maintain inventory-related documentation per the standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Analyze inventory transactions; identify and resolve exceptions and shrinkage. Investigate and resolve inventory-related issues.
  • Ensure a proper cycle-counting program is in place to facilitate a regular cycle-count process in the distribution center.
  • Generate and analyze regular reporting to ensure correct movement of merchandise and to correct discrepancies. Document findings and corrections; submit to management for review.
  • Manage merchandise movement, liquidation and disposal process. Monitor in-transit inventory and location changes regarding store and warehosue transfers; manage adjustment of inventory adds and losses.
  • Reconcile retail merchandise invoices and purchase orders; reconcile past-due purchase orders and review shipping and receiving documents for accuracy.
  • Lead process improvement events; coach and teach continuous quality improvement tools and methodologies. Own validation and quantification of the financial gains of process improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure effective product flow, standard operating procedures are being followed and to improve overall processes.
  • Make employment decisions and/or recommendations on hiring, improvement plans, transfers, promotions, corrective actions, terminations, pay adjustments, etc.
  • Coordinate and manage the work of employees by directing members of the team to meet the area’s goals. Audit regularly to ensure standard operating procedures are being adhered to.
  • Manage employee performance and assist employees in making improvements to their performance through coaching, mentoring and administering performance reviews. Recommend, plan and/or implement employee training and skill development activities.
  • Audit, maintain and ensure employee time-keeping and absentee records are accurate.
  • Communicate company and departmental issues and goals and facilitate employee growth and development through weekly team meetings, regular individual employee meetings, coaching, training, and company-offered learning opportunities.
  • Manage resources to optimize equipment, facilities, employees, methods and materials.
  • Demonstrate the Company’s Core and Growth Values in the performance of all job functions.

Job Qualifications
Education
  • Associate Degree in Finance, Business, Supply Chain Logistics or related field or equivalent work experience, Required
Experience
  • 4 years’ experience in Finance, Inventory Control, Logistics and/or Supply Chain, preferably in a retail or distribution center environment, Required
  • Supervisory/Management experience
Licenses or Certifications
  • Company-issued PIV Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days, Required

  • Strong knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) such as High Jump
