Job summary

TransPak Inc. in Manor, Texas is looking for an Inventory Manager to lead activities related to inventory and tool management. This hands-on position requires overseeing inventory movement, training team members, and maintaining safety standards in the facility.

Job description

Position Summary

This is a hands‑on position with heavy emphasis on leading activities related to inventory and tool management.

Essential Functions
  • Handle all aspects of inventory movement of materials and tools, including stocking, re‑stocking, and accounting for every item in the warehouse.
  • Compile and maintain records of the quantity, type, and value of the inventory on hand.
  • Participate in monthly and year‑end inventory cycle counts and inventory reconciliation.
  • Coordinate inventory requirements and procurement details with the division’s Inventory Manager or other management, depending on the site.
  • Track the transportation and distribution of tools and material inventory.
  • Oversee the records of all stocks and compile evaluation reports, including daily audits.
Guiding Inventory/Materials Team
  • Train and coach material handlers to ensure work meets safety, quality, and production deadlines.
  • Maintain certifications or licenses to properly train team members in handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Provide feedback about performance and job expectations to ensure accountability.
  • Collaborate with Inventory Manager or other management members in partnership with HR to resolve employee concerns.
Safe and Efficient Facility Team Member
  • Address and report all equipment defects or maintenance needs to maintain safe and efficient use; follow all procedures, policies, and be familiar with equipment before using it.
  • Speak up when observing potential safety issues or unsafe acts being performed.
  • Efficiently perform work according to standard operating procedures.
Marginal Functions
  • Assume responsibility for additional inventory‑related projects, as assigned.
  • Support daily operations and task assignment of other departments, depending on the site, and as needed to cover absences.
  • Occasional transportation of finished goods to other local warehouses or customer storage sites via truck or van, as required by site/customer.
Education/Knowledge/Skill Requirements

Required

  • At least 2 years’ experience in transportation, warehouse, distribution, or another related environment.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and listening) and interpersonal skills needed to interface with and influence all levels of personnel.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Prior supervisory experience using a forklift (certified desired) and pallet jack.
  • Ability to work assigned schedule and overtime.
  • Ability to push and pull up to 25 pounds and lift up to 30 pounds.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in transportation, warehousing, and/or distribution environments desired.
  • Current valid driver’s license if needed for transporting finished goods.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of inventory management and quality management.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize daily work and meet all internal and external deadlines.
