Job summary

TransPak is seeking a hands-on Inventory Lead to manage movement, stocking, and reconciliation of materials and tools. You will train and guide a materials team, ensuring safety, quality, and timely production support.

The role involves coordinating with the Inventory Manager and handling occasional local transportation. Eligible candidates should have at least two years in distribution or warehouse roles, strong Excel skills, and bilingual English/Spanish.

Qualifications

• Required: Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, especially Excel)
• At least 2 years’ experience in transportation, warehouse, distribution, or related environment
• Excellent written, verbal, and listening communication skills
• Bilingual English and Spanish
• Prior supervisory experience using forklift (certified preferred) and pallet jacks
• Ability to work assigned schedule and overtime
• Ability to push/pull up to 25 lbs and lift up to 30 lbs

Job description

Position Summary:

This is a hands-on position with heavy emphasis on leading the activities that relate to inventory and tool management.

Essential Functions:

Inventory Control

• Handle all aspects of inventory movement of materials and tools, including stocking, re-stocking, and accounting for every item in the warehouse.
• Compile and maintain records of the quantity, type, and value of the inventory on hand.
• Participates in monthly and year-end inventory cycle counts, and inventory reconciliation issues.
• Coordinates inventory requirements and procurement details with the division’s Inventory Manager or other management, depending on site.
• Track the transportation and distribution of tools and material inventory.
• Oversees the records of all stocks and compiles evaluation reports, including daily audits.

Guiding Inventory/Materials Team

• Trains and coaches material handlers to ensure work is performed as expected for safety, quality and production deadlines.
• May require maintaining certifications or licenses to properly train team members in proper handling (forklift, pallet jack, etc.)
• Gives feedback about performance and job expectations to ensure respectful accountability.
• Collaborates with Inventory Manager or other members of management in partnership with HR to resolve employee concerns.

Safe and Efficient Facility Team Member

• Address and report all equipment defects or maintenance needs to maintain safe and efficient use. Follow all procedures, policies and know the equipment before using it.
• Speak up when observing something that may be unsafe or someone performing unsafe acts.
• Efficiently perform work according to standard operating procedures.

Mandial Functions:

• May assume responsibility for additional inventory-related projects, as assigned
• Support the daily operations and task assignment of other departments, depending on site, and as needed to cover absences.
• Occasional transportation of finished goods to other local warehouses or customer storage site via truck or van, as required by site/customer.

Education/Knowledge/Skill Requirements:

Required

• Computer literate in Microsoft Office suite (Excel primarily)
• At least 2 years’ experience in transportation, warehouse, distribution or another related environment.
• Excellent communications skills (written, verbal & listening) and interpersonal skills needed to interface with and influence all levels of personnel.
• Bilingual English and Spanish
• Prior Supervisory experience using a forklift (certified is desired) and pallet jacks
• Ability to work assigned schedule and overtime.
• Ability to push and pull up to 25 pounds and lift up to 30 pounds.

Desired

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in transportation, warehousing, and/or distribution environment desired.
• Current valid Driver’s License, if there is a need for transporting finished goods.
• Demonstrated knowledge of inventory management and quality management.
• Must have strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize daily work and meet all internal and external deadlines.
