Job summary

Safeway is seeking an Inventory Control Clerk to manage receiving, verify vendor invoices, and ensure accuracy of costs. The role supports smooth store operations by overseeing the receiving process, logging deliveries and maintaining inventory integrity.

The position requires physical stamina, the ability to operate equipment, and a commitment to safety and policy compliance in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs and operate material handling equipment.
• Basic math and inventory accuracy knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Champion customer service programs to meet goals and promote company values.
• Receive deliveries and log into the computer; move items to storage or sales floor.
• Verify invoices against costs and reconcile vendor invoices in the system.
• Maintain security, sanitation and organization of receiving and loading areas.
• Operates equipment such as hand trucks, pallet jacks, power lifts and pricing guns.
• Perform duties like stocking, pricing, and rotating dairy/frozen items when needed.
• Ensure compliance with policies and procedures and safe operation of all tools.
