Job summary

gpac is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist to join our operations team in a hands-on role focused on maintaining accurate inventory, supporting production flow, and ensuring materials are properly received, tracked, allocated, and available when needed.

The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing environments such as steel fabrication or job-shop settings, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and a proven ability to work cross-functionally with production,

Qualifications

3+ years in inventory control or materials management in a manufacturing environment.
Experience in steel fabrication, metal fabrication, machining, or a job-shop environment.
Experience with ERP/MRP systems and material flow knowledge.
Ability to read and interpret purchase orders, material specifications, BOMs, and job travelers.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
High attention to detail with ownership and accountability.

Responsibilities

Maintain accurate inventory levels of raw materials, WIP, finished goods, and consumables.
Track material movements including receiving, issuing, transfers and returns.
Ensure proper material identification, tagging, storage, and traceability.
Monitor material availability to prevent shortages and production delays.
Perform routine cycle counts and physical inventories; investigate discrepancies.
