Job summary

Upchurch Industrial LLC, a rapidly growing building engineering company offering mechanical, plumbing, HVAC and electrical services in the southeastern United States, is seeking an Inventory Control Clerk in Greenwood, MS. The role ensures accurate receipt, storage and movement of materials across fabrication and logistics.

The candidate will record inventory transactions, use barcode technology, and maintain traceability while coordinating with purchasing and fabrication teams.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in inventory control or related environment.
• Experience with inventory management systems or applications to process and maintain inventory transactions.
• Ability to read and interpret purchase orders, packing lists, and inventory-related documentation.
• Knowledge of material traceability documentation, including material test reports (MTRs).
• Experience maintaining material traceability and using barcodes in a fast-paced warehouse.
• Forklift or other material-handling equipment experience.

Responsibilities

• Receive and verify incoming materials against purchase orders and packing lists to ensure accuracy.
• Record and track inventory movements, including transfers and shipments, for accurate job costing.
• Use barcode scanners and inventory apps to record receipts, storage locations, transfers, and adjustments.
• Organize, label, and store materials to support efficient retrieval and safe handling.
• Perform routine cycle counts and assist with physical inventories to maintain accuracy.
• Maintain receiving and inventory documentation for traceability and compliance.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate low stock or shortages to purchasing and management.
• Coordinate with purchasing, fabrication, and logistics to resolve routine inventory questions.
