Job summary

Vallen Distribution is seeking an Inventory Control Coordinator I to perform cycle counts, reconcile inventories, and support reduction of aged and overstocked stock. The role will involve audits, data analysis in Excel, and collaboration with site leadership to improve inventory controls.

The ideal candidate has strong computer skills, 1+ year of related experience, and understanding of warehouse operations within a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with 1+ years related work experience.
• Strong computer knowledge and aptitude to learn various applications; experience with a Warehouse Management System (WMS) preferred and SAP knowledge a plus.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, with the ability to analyze data, build reports, and use advanced formulas.
• Demonstrated basic knowledge of warehouse operations and supply chain management.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, work orders, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Demonstration of basic mathematical skills (rates, ratios, percentages).
• Ability to compile routine reports and write correspondence.

Responsibilities

• Performs physical cycle counts and audits; reconciles counts and recounts; ensures inventory is secured and accessible.
• Adjusts inventory based on counts; makes bin changes as necessary; ensures quantities of incoming/outgoing shipments are accurate.
• Researches product and SKU discrepancies.
• Assists with root cause analysis for stock-outs; maintains stock-out data and reports to management.
• Runs aged inventory and min/max reports; develops lists for Returns to manufacturers or sale to other users or resellers; processes returns and credits.
• Reviews min/max levels of Reserve Inventories and recommends changes to Site Management.
• Maintains a current, approved list of "Customer Responsible Items".
• Participates in ongoing process improvement initiatives.
