The City of Riverside is accepting applications for the position of Inventory Control Specialist I in the Fire Department. This role supports receiving, storing, organizing, and issuing materials and supplies, helping ensure resources are available when needed.
Typical duties include inventory checks, stock updates, equipment handling, and processing of returns, with emphasis on safety and efficient stockroom operations.
The City of Riverside is accepting applications for the position of Inventory Control Specialist I to fill one (1) vacancy in the Fire Department. The eligibility list established may be used to fill the current and/or upcoming vacancies within this classification for up to six (6) months.
The Inventory Control Specialist I performs both manual and administrative support tasks in the receiving, storing, organizing, and issuing of a variety of materials and supplies.
When assigned to the Fire Department, the Inventory Control Specialist I coordinates logistical support for departmental operations, including receiving, storing, tracking, distributing, and delivering equipment, supplies, uniforms, and other operational materials. The position supports inventory readiness and works with Fire Department personnel to ensure resources are available when needed.
Typical duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Inventory Control Specialist I:
Education: High School graduation or satisfactory equivalent (GED)
Experience: Six (6) months of experience in stores or warehouse work
The selection process will begin with an employment application package screening, with the best qualified candidates being invited to participate further in the assessment process. This process may include any combination of written, performance, and oral assessments to evaluate job-related education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Those who successfully complete the selection process will be placed on the eligibility list for this classification.
