Job summary

Cloverdale Foods is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist to manage real-time inventory on the production floor using our ERP system and handheld scanners. The role focuses on accuracy, traceability, and food safety compliance, with daily cycle counts and CAPA-driven improvements.

You will work in a production-heavy environment, conduct counts, and support FIFO, inventory purge, and CAPAs while maintaining a clean, safe workspace. Role requires lifting up to 75 lbs and forklift familiarity.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree preferred; equivalent work experience accepted.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in inventory control, production reporting, or manufacturing.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and inventory management tools.
• Strong understanding of inventory control processes, data validation, and traceability requirements, especially in food manufacturing.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance related to food safety and quality standards (e.g., SQF, USDA, HACCP).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced attention to detail and a commitment to inventory accuracy.
• Strong organizational and communication skills; able to work independently and collaboratively.
• Forklift certification or willingness to become certified.
• Able to lift up to 75 lbs and stand for extended periods in a cold plant environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cycle counts and input results into the ERP system.
• Utilize ERP software, scanners, and labeling equipment to track and manage inventory in real time.
• Investigate inventory discrepancies via root cause analysis and implement CAPAs.
• Monitor production job transactions and shop floor inventory supporting manufacturing flow.
• Lead and coordinate cycle counting programs and physical inventories.
• Support FIFO compliance, expired product removal, rework, and obsolete inventory purging.
• Ensure traceability and food safety compliance; uphold 5S and safety standards.
• Operate forklifts and pallet jacks as needed for inventory movement.
• Reconcile variances related to work orders or system transactions.
• Provide backup support to raw material warehouse, shipping, and receiving teams.
