Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club is hiring an Inventory Control Specialist to maintain, track, and report physical inventory. You will act as a liaison between internal and external customers to ensure accuracy of inventory and fiscal accounting.

You will handle warehouse operations, use WMS data for efficient control, identify and resolve discrepancies, and uphold safety and food safety standards in a fast-paced, refrigerated environment.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED; college coursework preferred.
• Warehouse experience preferred.
• Experience operating Material Handling Equipment preferred.
• Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems preferred.
• Ability to operate or learn to operate material handling equipment (MHE).
• Basic math to verify pallet counts.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Operate computers and tablets.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform inventory functions to ensure accuracy, efficiency, compliance, profitability, proper material handling, and minimal damage.
• Use Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) data to ensure efficient and proper inventory control.
• Research and identify quality control issues to minimize recurrence and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Identify opportunities for improvement of all inventory functions and programs.
• Check condition of pallets and exchange where necessary.
• Promptly report damage and all inventory discrepancies.
• Maintain cleanliness and repair of dock, and facility areas.
• Ensure pallets are wrapped and stacked for safe transport to storage.
• Safely operate appropriate Material Handling Equipment after training.
• Maintain all food safety, housekeeping and other applicable standards.
• Other duties as assigned.
