Job summary

Clark Mechanical Services, Inc. is seeking a Short-Term Inventory Control Specialist (6 months) for our Cumberland, MD distribution center on the 3rd shift.

The role focuses on ensuring data accuracy between internal systems and physical counts, collaborating across departments, and resolving inventory issues with proactive solutions. The position requires independent work across teams, execution of cycle counts, use of ERP, and safe operation of warehouse equipment.

Responsibilities

• Run reports to identify potential inventory issues, investigate and resolve.
• Search for inaccuracies such as misplaced stock during cycle counts.
• Complete inventory adjustments based on counts and ERP research.
• Use forklift equipment to replenish pick bins with overstock.
• Identify and process damaged inventory to maintain accuracy.
• Ensure misplaced items are returned to correct bin locations.
• Safely operate and maintain warehouse equipment.
• Pick wrap/kit lists for repacking and transport completed product.
• Meet performance standards for efficiency, accuracy and quality.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and report hazards.
• Work with team to meet daily/weekly/monthly goals.
• Abide by all policies and flex into other duties as needed.

We are currently seeking Short-Term Inventory Control Specialist (6 months) for our 3rd shift at our distribution center in Cumberland, MD. This is a temporary assignment with the potential for contract extension based on business needs and performance review.

The Inventory Control Specialist role ensures the accuracy of the data in our internal systems compared to the physical counts of inventory. This position collaborates across departments in identifying issues and resolve trends, presenting proactive solutions that serve our customers. Inventory Control Specialists work independently and efficiently across departmental teams and are expected to fulfill their responsibilities with precision and care.

• Run various reports that identify potential systematic issues with inventory, investigate appropriately and resolve any found problems
• Search for inaccuracies and errors, such as misplaced stock, while conducting and processing scheduled weekly cycle counts
• Complete inventory adjustments based off differences in physical counts and research using the company’s ERP system
• Use forklift equipment to replenish pick bins with overstock product
• Identify and process damaged inventory throughout the warehouse to maintain accurate inventory levels
• Ensure that misplaced or mistakenly picked items are returned to the correct bin location
• Safely operate and maintain warehouse equipment to fulfill job duties to ensure a safe work environment
• Pick wrap/kit list for repacking items and transport completed product throughout the warehouse for put-away
• Meet all expected performance standards regarding efficiency, accuracy and quality of work
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following all safety guidelines and reporting any hazards to the appropriate leadership.
• Work closely with team members and leadership to meet daily, weekly, and monthly departmental goals
• Abide by all company and warehouse policies
• Flex into other positions and departments and undertake additional duties as necessary to support the overall operation
