Webstaurantstore is seeking a Short-Term Inventory Control Specialist for a 6-month assignment at our Cumberland, MD distribution center. The role ensures data accuracy between internal systems and physical counts and works across departments to identify issues and implement solutions.

The ideal candidate will have 1 year+ distribution experience, a High school diploma or GED, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to operate warehouse equipment including forklifts.

Qualifications

• 1 year+ of relevant experience in a distribution environment preferred but not required.
• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, order pickers, etc.
• Ability to quickly adapt as business needs change; diplomacy and emotional intelligence

Responsibilities

• Run reports to identify inventory issues and resolve problems.
• Investigate inaccuracies like misplaced stock during cycle counts.
• Adjust inventory using the ERP system.
• Use forklift to replenish pick bins.
• Identify damaged inventory and maintain accuracy.
• Ensure items are returned to correct bin locations.

• Prepare wrap/kit lists and move products to put-away.

Job Summary

Join now and earn a $3.00/hour bonus for all hours worked! Bonus is paid at the end of the contract and requires full contract completion to qualify. We are currently seeking Short-Term Inventory Control Specialist (6 months) for our 3rd shift at our distribution center in Cumberland, MD. This is a temporary assignment with the potential for contract extension based on business needs and performance review. The Inventory Control Specialist role ensures the accuracy of the data in our internal systems compared to the physical counts of inventory. This position collaborates across departments in identifying issues and resolve trends, presenting proactive solutions that serve our customers. Inventory Control Specialists work independently and efficiently across departmental teams and are expected to fulfill their responsibilities with precision and care.

Responsibilities

• Run various reports that identify potential systematic issues with inventory, investigate appropriately and resolve any found problems
• Search for inaccuracies and errors, such as misplaced stock, while conducting and processing scheduled weekly cycle counts
• Complete inventory adjustments based off differences in physical counts and research using the company’s ERP system
• Use forklift equipment to replenish pick bins with overstock product
• Identify and process damaged inventory throughout the warehouse to maintain accurate inventory levels
• Ensure that misplaced or mistakenly picked items are returned to the correct bin location
• Safely operate and maintain warehouse equipment to fulfill job duties to ensure a safe work environment
• Pick wrap/kit list for repacking items and transport completed product throughout the warehouse for put-away
• Meet all expected performance standards regarding efficiency, accuracy and quality of work
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following all safety guidelines and reporting any hazards to the appropriate leadership.
• Work closely with team members and leadership to meet daily, weekly, and monthly departmental goals
• Abide by all company and warehouse policies
• Flex into other positions and departments and undertake additional duties as necessary to support the overall operation

Physical Requirements

• Work is performed while standing and/or walking, up to and including 12 hours/day.
• Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
• Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
• Requires regular bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
• Requires the ability to regularly lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 75lbs.

Experience

• 1 year+ of relevant experience in a distribution environment preferred but not required
• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience
