Job summary

Talentify in Michigan is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist in Ypsilanti to manage stock levels for aviation-related parts. You will monitor the open line stockroom, coordinate with repairs and purchasing, and ensure inventory accuracy using the inventory database.

Responsibilities

• Monitor open line station stockroom and FAK requirements as determined by inventory database.
• Coordinate with repairs and purchasing departments to maintain inventory levels.
• Review daily AOG purchases and parts usage to adjust inventory levels accordingly.
• Attend meetings with Materials Management about new inventory setups in airports.
• Collect, review and file monthly Station Shelf-Life Reports for Kalitta Air stations.
• Review parts installations and removals to ensure inventory database accuracy.
• Draft reports/spreadsheets on inventory usage, cost, and history.
• Investigate inventory discrepancies and perform corrections in the inventory database with detailed research.
• Collaborate with Engineering to ensure accurate inventory identification and interchangeability.
• Generate daily cycle counts to audit physical stockroom inventory and reconcile discrepancies.
• Strive to minimize waste and maximize efficiency in inventory management.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Inventory Control Supervisor.

Job Title: Inventory Control Specialist

Department: Materials

Reports To: Materials Manager

Location: Ypsilanti, MI - YIP

Shift: Full Time - 1st Shift

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

• Monitor open line station stockroom and aircraft fly-away-kit (FAK) requirements as determined by the inventory database.
• Coordinate with the repairs and purchasing departments, along with various stockrooms to ensure required inventory levels are maintained.
• Review daily AOG purchases and parts usage to evaluate whether current inventory levels need to be adjusted.
• Attend meetings with Materials Management to evaluate and discuss possible new inventory setup in domestic and international airports.
• Collect, review and file monthly Station Shelf-Life Reports. This includes Kalitta Air staffed and contract staffed stations. Review current expired items and final disposition of items.
• Review parts installations and removals to ensure inventory database accuracy.
• Draft reports and/or Excel spreadsheets relevant to inventory usage, cost, and history.
• Review any inventory discrepancies and perform corrections in the inventory database supported by detailed research (FAA certificates, data plate pictures, etc).
• Collaborate with Engineering to ensure accurate inventory identification and interchangeability.
• Generate daily cycle counts to audit physical stockroom inventory, investigating inventory inaccuracies and reconciling discrepancies.
• Problem solving to ensure inventory is available and accurate, minimizing waste and maximizing efficiency.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Inventory Control Supervisor.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school graduate; some college and/or technical school desirable.

Aviation experience preferred with background in navigating and using Inventory Management databases. Microsoft Office experience is required, including Excel, Outlook and Word. Proficient communication skills are a must.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, write and understand spoken and written English. Ability to create / write routine reports and correspondence.
