Job summary

Envases Commerce, LLC in Waco, TX is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist to manage receiving, movement, storage and auditing of raw materials supporting Can Plant and Ends Plant operations.

The role requires hands-on material handling, daily inventory management, system discipline and coordination across Procurement, Production, Warehouse and Receiving. Flexibility for 24/7 supply chain emergencies is required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, receiving, or material handling in manufacturing.
  • Experience operating 30,000 lb forklifts or the ability to become certified.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (spreadsheets, sorting, filtering, basic formulas).
  • Strong understanding of inventory control principles and material flow.
  • Ability to document inventory transactions using computer systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating with multiple departments.
  • Must be available for 24/7 supply chain emergencies.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Our Waco, TX facility manufactures aluminum beverage cans commonly used for soft drinks, beers, energy drinks, teas and non-carbonated beverages. Using state of the art can-making technology, this high speed environment provides rewarding manufacturing opportunities.

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for the accurate receiving, movement, storage, tracking, and auditing of raw materials supporting both the Can Plant and Ends Plant operations. This position ensures inventory accuracy, supports production by maintaining material availability, and provides inventory data to the Raw Material Specialist for planning and replenishment activities.

This role requires hands-on material handling, daily inventory management, strong system discipline, and close coordination with Procurement, Production, Warehouse, and Receiving.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

RECEIVING & MATERIAL HANDLING

Receive all inbound raw material deliveries for both the Can and Ends Plants.

Safely operate a 30,000 lb forklift to unload coils and other raw materials.

Verify receiving documentation against Purchase Orders and shipping paperwork.

Inspect incoming materials for damage and report discrepancies immediately.

Transport materials to designated storage locations while maintaining proper inventory identification.

INVENTORY CONTROL

Maintain accurate inventory records using Ignition and SAP inventory systems.

Utilize inventory tracking tables and system reports to record all material movements.

Perform daily physical inventory verification of raw materials.

Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly.

Maintain accurate inventory locations and ensure proper material identification.

AUDITING & REPORTING

Complete scheduled weekly inventory audits.

Generate inventory accuracy reports and communicate findings to the Raw Material Specialist.

Support month-end inventory reconciliation activities.

Assist with cycle count programs and continuous inventory improvements.

MATERIAL FLOW

Monitor raw material movement throughout the manufacturing process.

Ensure FIFO (First In, First Out) practices are followed where applicable.

Coordinate transfers between the Can Plant and Ends Plant as required.

Maintain organized storage areas that promote safety and inventory accuracy.

MATERIAL FLOW

Identify opportunities to improve inventory accuracy and material flow.

Support process improvements involving receiving, storage, and inventory tracking.

Maintain compliance with company safety procedures and housekeeping standards.

Requirements

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

REQUIRED

Education: High school diploma or GED

Experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, receiving, or material handling within a manufacturing environment.

Experience operating large-capacity forklifts (30,000 lb preferred) or the ability to become certified.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including spreadsheets, sorting, filtering, and basic formulas.

Strong understanding of inventory control principles and material flow.

Ability to accurately document inventory transactions using computer-based systems.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with multiple departments.

Critical Availability: Must be available to respond to and manage supply chain emergencies (e.g., critical delivery failures, line-down risks) on a 24/7 basis, including nights, weekends, and holidays, due to the plant's continuous operation

PREFERRED

Experience with SAP or other ERP systems.

Experience working with raw material inventory.

Cycle counting and inventory auditing experience.

Prior experience with enterprise-wide purchasing software

Prior experience with supply chain inventory databases

Has the ability to learn new software systems and data management systems quickly

Proficient keyboarding and typing skills

HOURS / SPECIAL CONDITIONS:

Monday-Friday 7am-4pm; present to fulfill job duties & meet operational demands/support; schedule may vary depending on plant operational needs thus flexibility is required which could include long days, occasional evenings & weekends; Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
